A dull face usually is not missing a better flesh paint. It is missing the color underneath.

Painting Skin & Faces: Exploring Undertones is a miniature painting class that explores building skin from the inside out. Students will paint a bust and learn where purple, green, red, and yellow undertones belong before the final skin tones go on.

The class covers shadow placement, midtones, highlights, and simple face maps so painters can see why cheeks, noses, eyes, mouths, and jawlines do not all behave like the same flat flesh color.

All paints are provided. The class uses Pro Acryl in the colors Royal Purple, Yellow Green, Red Oxide, Bismuth Yellow, Burnt Umber, Advanced Flesh Tone, and Tan Flesh.

Students are encouraged to bring their own detail brushes.
